The perfect DCT oil pan upgrade for your BMW. Price plus fitment.
What’s the benefit of upgrading and why even do it? Here’s the reason and fitment options. When driving hard especially on track, BMW’s DCT transmissions can suffer from oil starvation, inconsistent pressure, and heat buildup. The result? Unwanted transmission recovery mode, reduced performance, and potential long-term wear. The Slon Workshop DCT Oil Pan is purpose-built to address these issues, combining increased oil capacity, better cooling, and a more rigid structure in one direct-fit upgrade.
Whether you’re tracking your M car or simply want added protection for spirited driving, this oil pan is a proven solution for keeping your DCT cool, well-fed with oil, and structurally reinforced.
Key Features & Benefits
Internal oil control walls prevent oil from shifting under hard cornering and acceleration, maintaining consistent pressure and helping avoid transmission recovery mode—a common issue on track days.
Adds approximately 800ml over the OEM unit without requiring any cutting or modification to underbody panels.
Includes a precision-machined spacer to lower the oil pump suction pipe to the bottom of the deeper pan, ensuring constant oil delivery.
10mm radiator-style cooling fins increase surface area for significantly better heat dissipation than OEM plastic or most aftermarket pans.
• Improved Structural Rigidity
Unlike the factory plastic pan, this CNC-machined aluminum version mounts directly without a rubber gasket, strengthening the transmission housing and reducing flex under load.
Why No Gasket? A Better Sealing Method
Instead of a rubber gasket, the Slon pan uses Loctite 574 anaerobic sealant:
• Designed for internal use—safe if small amounts enter the transmission, dissolving harmlessly in oil.
• Commonly used by BMW on modern engines.
• A single 50ml tube is enough for multiple installations.
• Eliminates the need for a gasket, maximizing structural reinforcement.
Installation Tip
The transmission can be filled 2–4 hours after installation. Loctite 574 cures in the absence of air, so it may remain soft externally—this is normal and does not require “drying” like silicone.
What’s Included
• CNC-Machined Aluminum DCT Oil Pan (Galvanized)
• Oil Pump Spacer
• Stainless-Steel Mounting Bolts
Available Finishes: Black, Red
• F80 / F82 / F83 M3 / M4 / M4 GTS
The Slon Workshop DCT Oil Pan is engineered to solve critical oil starvation issues under aggressive driving making it an essential upgrade for track and high-performance applications.
Providing more oil capacity thanks to maximized pan height, the pan is bundled with an oil suction pipe spacer to extend the stock pipe to lowest point. Additionally, 10mm radiator fins provide improved cooling while the pan is designed to fit without a gasket and instead features a special sealant channel.
NOTE: Loctite 574 is recommended for installation. Anaerobic sealants are completely safe because they dissolve completely in oil; even if a small amount ends up inside the transmission. BMW uses the same type of sealant in their modern engine assembly.
