Horsepower gains from Eventuri E36 M3 carbon intake? Price?
What’s the cost and how’s the overall fitment? Horsepower increase? Check the dyno graphs here! The E36 M3 Eventuri Intake has been meticulously developed to optimize airflow efficiency while maintaining low intake temperatures. Central to the design is our patented Venturi housing, which integrates directly with the MAF tube. This integration removes unnecessary junctions and establishes a continuous, laminar flow path from the filter to the M3’s intake plenum.
Where conventional cuboid airboxes and generic aftermarket systems generate turbulence and pressure losses, the Eventuri system maintains consistent velocity and pressure, maximizing volumetric efficiency. Intake temperatures are stabilized through thermal shielding and direct alignment with the OEM cold air feed.
Performance Increase: 13-19hp, 9-16ft-lb
Fitment: E36 M3 3.0 and 3.2 Evo (non USA S50)
The outcome is a marked improvement in throttle response and mid-range torque, along with sustained power delivery across the rev band—achieving performance gains without compromising drivability.
The Eventuri E36 M3 intake system consists of a number of components engineered to perform a specific purpose and fabricated to the highest of standards. Here are the details for each component and the design ethos behind them:
Each intake system consists of:
- Carbon Fiber Venturi Housing with Integrated MAF Tube
- Bespoke High Flow Generation 2 Filters
- Aluminium Inlet Cowl
- CNC Machined Hardware and Stainless Steel Brackets
- Breather Filter Set
The filter housing comprises of our bespoke generation 2 filter, aluminium inlet cowl, the carbon pod with shielding and integrated MAF tube. The carbon pod shrouds the reverse mounted filter and smoothly shapes the airflow down to the plenum. This is a key feature of the intake design where we have removed the tortuous flow path of the OEM airbox and therefore reduced the pressure loss through the whole system. The MAF sensor connection has been relocated to be less visually obtrusive but still functions in the same parameters as the OEM system. Finally the housing has heat shielding around the filter opening to prevent heated engine bay air from entering the filter and therefore keeping IATs controlled.
Patented Technology
Our patented filter housings have a smooth reduction in cross sectional area as they shroud the filters and taper down to the tubing. This geometry invokes the Venturi effect where the airflow accelerates whilst maintaining laminar conditions. It can be thought of as a large velocity stack – below is a diagram to show the comparison between our patented design and a regular intake system. Our bespoke filters aid the airflow moving through the housings and allow for an even velocity profile as the airflow exits the housings. Further details can be read in the Technology and Filters pages.
The Eventuri Black Carbon Intake System for the BMW E36 M3 (Euro Spec) has been engineered to unlock the full potential of the S50B30 and S50B32 engines through a complete redesign of the factory airbox airflow path. Utilizing Eventuri’s patented Venturi housing concept, the system creates a continuous, laminar flow path from the filter to the plenum, reducing pressure loss and allowing the individual throttle bodies to operate with greater efficiency. The result is a substantial increase in throttle response, stronger mid-range torque, and sustained power delivery to redline.
Unlike conventional aftermarket airboxes which introduce turbulence through abrupt transitions and multiple junctions, the Eventuri housing integrates directly with the MAF tube and tapers smoothly to accelerate airflow while maintaining stable velocity and pressure. The reverse-mounted Generation 2 bespoke high-flow filter is fully shrouded within the carbon housing, which shapes the airflow toward the plenum while shielding the filter from engine bay heat. Alignment with the OEM cold air feed further stabilizes intake air temperatures for consistent performance on both road and track.
The system also features a repositioned MAF sensor location for a cleaner engine bay aesthetic while retaining factory calibration. An aluminum inlet cowl ensures efficient air capture and even velocity distribution across the filter surface, while CNC-machined hardware and laser-cut stainless steel brackets provide OEM-level fitment and long-term durability.
With dyno-proven gains of 13–19 horsepower and 9–16 ft-lb of torque, the intake transforms the driving experience of the Euro E36 M3. Beyond the performance improvements, the pre-preg 2×2 twill carbon fiber construction delivers a period-correct OEM+ appearance which complements the motorsport character of the platform.
