What made you want to buy an M3 over something else?
I had found videos of E9X M3s over the years and to be honest, Spencer Burke and FindingNick were the main inspiration for me wanting one. Seeing both of them hang around all the different E9Xs around them inspired me to want one so bad.
Then Freshkiicks got his E90 and it was wraps, I knew I wanted a 4 door. I needed 4 doors to haul my orders for my clothing brand, SUSWEEB, and also I loved how everyone gravitated to the E92 leaving the E90 a little bit of a car in the shadow for a while.
How did you find your M3 for sale?
I found it on cargurus one day, it was for sale in Pensacola FL at a Honda dealership. The previous owner traded it in for a Hybrid Accord
What have you done to the car since you bought it?
I wrapped it Inozetek Snow Blue, added a GT4 V2 lip, carbon fiber side skirts, rear diffusers and rear bumper slats. Custom Vision style headlights. AlpineMSS tune, and full Valvemaster exhaust.
Favorite modification that you’ve done to your M3 and why?
100% the exhaust. The sound the S65 makes with a full exhaust is just the best.
Are there any negatives or downsides about your M3?
Gas mileage, having to let the car warm up for Rod bearings, it’s not the quickest and everyone thinks it is because of the sound. But you know what you get when you buy one of these. You buy it for the experience, not the speed.. even thought they definitely aren’t that slow for the time period.
Have any advice for somebody who’s looking to buy a BMW M3 that you wish you knew from the start?
Definitely be prepared for the BMW tax on parts and labor. It definitely shows that this car was an 80k car brand new. Just because they’ve come down in price doesn’t mean the parts have. And also if an E9X M3 seems to good to be true, it probably is. Find one that has heavy maintenance history and don’t be scared by miles. A higher mileage car with a nice history of maintenance is gonna do you way better than a lower mileage one with nothing done to it maintenance wise.
What maintenance have you had to? Anything that caught you by surprise or that you anticipated?
I did a decent amount of maintenance to the car. The Rod bearings and TA were already done by the previous owner. Some major maintenance I did was add the NRW Aluminum Valvecovers and also did a full DCT service.
Definitely was surprised by the DCT service because mine was leaking pretty bad. Other than that, my low pressure fuel sensor also went out and sent the car into limp mode once. Some other minor things I changed out like spark plugs, O2 sensors and some other sensors too but nothing major, just preventative.
If you could buy any 3 BMW’s, what would they be?
F80 M3, E90 M3, E36 M3….. maybe a G80 in there too just because S58
What other cars have you owned?
92 Mustang GT
96 Camaro Z28
07 Mazdaspeed3
02 Mustang GT
18 Accord
Sold the E90 M3
Now own a 15 F80 M3
What other hobbies do you have?
I run a clothing/accessory brand called SUSWEEB. It is an anime inspired brand that I’ve been running since 2017!
