1989 BMW E30 M3 S54 swapped sells for $75,500 in 2023
This 1989 BMW M3 was acquired by the seller’s father in 2010 after long-term registration history in Arizona, and it was the subject of a refurbishment and modification process that concluded in 2018. The car is powered by a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six that is reportedly fitted with polished throttle bodies, a fabricated exhaust header, and revised ECU tuning, and it is linked to a ZHP-sourced six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in white over replacement black cloth and leather upholstery, and the suspension features Ireland Engineering, Eibach, and Bilstein components.
Additional equipment includes 17″ BBS RC090 wheels, Wilwood disc brakes, powder-coated subframes, an Evolution II-style front air dam, air conditioning, a sunroof, and an aftermarket head unit linked to Orion amplifiers and a Dayton Audio subwoofer and speakers. Work during the engine install reportedly included rebuilding the VANOS unit and replacing the coil packs, fuel injectors, and main and connecting rod bearings. This modified E30 M3 is offered on behalf of the current owner with a clean Carfax report and a clean Arizona title in the name of the seller’s spouse.
