2002 BMW ///M3 Convertible 6 speed manual transmission. Carbon Black Metallic ext. Cinnamon int. Black cloth top with matching CBM hard top. Aftermarket accessories included; Pioneer flip up radio/phone/cd/dvd/nav unit with aux and usb input and subwoofer and amp in the trunk. Built in radar detector with digital display in the rear view mirror. Four Dunlop Direzza ZIII’s on stock wheels. Although it has its share of typical 100k mile cosmetic blemishes, this car is mechanically sound, and I would not hesitate to drive it across the country today. I REALLY don’t want to sell it, but I rarely drive it, and need the space. I am the third owner. I bought it with 84600 miles on it in 2013 from a realtor in Bethesda, Md. private sale through Ebay. Yes, the rod bearing recall was done before I bought the car. I have a stack of repair records that came with it. The damage in the Carfax report is that the car was hit while parked, and the drivers door and front fender were repaired, as is evident by the failing clearcoat on those areas. Right after I bought it, I brought it to Turner Motorsports, to have them look over the car. They performed a valve adjustment, and I asked them to check the VANOS and subframe. They inspected them and said that the VANOS bolts were fine. They said (and showed me) that there was a tiny crack at one of the subframe mounting points that someone had previously spot welded. I have since monorted the mounting points, and no new cracks have appeared, and the one that was repaired has not progressed. I am/was a VW mechanic That was the last time that I brought the car anywhere for work. I have since maintained the car myself. Tires, oil, brakes, brake fluid flushes, suspension, updated FTAB’s RTAB’s, all done by me. I don’t believe the car was ever used in the winter. I love driving this car, and really don’t want to sell it. But, as you can see by the mileage, (17000 miles in ten years) I just don’t use it enough to justify the registration and insurance costs. I have a bunch of old VW’s that we drive all summer. Plus we had a 100 lb dog that went everywhere with us, so we never took the BMW. Also whenever we went anywhere with other people, we didn’t take the BMW because of the small back seats. I won’t lie to you, I have done several track days with it. It is so much fun on the track, especially with those tires. I always store it for the winter. A potential buyer had a PPI performed by a speciality BMW shop, and no surprises were found. The shop stated that the car is in very good condition, and has “average wear for 100k miles”
