This system is constructed from 100% 304-stainless steel and features adjustable Active Autowerke double walled tips, making it ideal both for 2-door and 4-door models (also allows for cleaner fitment with diffusers).
This system uses factory style flanges making it a complete bolt on system that requires no cutting or welding. The system is a straight-through design providing substantial improvements to gas flow over the factory exhaust.

With the racetrack and the street in mind, this new exhaust system from Eisenmann is crafted from an extremely heat-resistant and lightweight chrome-nickel alloy called Inconel.
This flow optimized exhaust system reduces exhaust backpressure and allows the M3’s 414 horsepower V8 engine to produce an even more powerful sound. Inconel’s unique qualities allowed engineers to reduce the thickness of the tubing from 1.5mm to 0.8mm. This resulted in a weight reduction of approximately 40%, or about 20 lbs. when compared to the stock exhaust system. Inconel has also proven to be very corrosion resistant and has been used at the highest level of Motorsports. Connecting pipes now included with all E9X M3 Systems. Back box made of INCONEL. The iconic Capristo valved exhaust system offers the best of both worlds through its capability to produce an aggressive exhaust note under acceleration and a more subdued sound for city driving. This feature is possible using vacuum-actuated valve flaps that open and close depending on driving conditions and input from the driver. At lower engine speeds and during cruise operation the valves are closed and produce a deeper exhaust note. At wide-open throttle, the valves open releasing the full symphony of the engine. Both the cruise and sport mode can be individually programmed for specific backpressure allowances to determine when the exhaust valves open. This diet is courtesy of a new approach to the E92’s exhaust canister design—the new units are substantially smaller and are mounted independently—allowing Eisenmann to take its weight loss even further by deleting the two cross pipes that conjoined the two original mufflers. Although a smaller muffler might warn of obnoxious tones to the uninitiated, Eisenmann has managed to reinterpret their signature sound while also maintaining performance—each canister is cleverly optimized with perforations throughout. The new exhaust absolutely sings with an OEM x-pipe and provides an emphatic brutality with an aftermarket mid-section.
Appropriate to its modernity, this special exhaust is also fashioned with Eisenmann’s modular tip system. Tip diameter has increased in the process: these new tips are 7mm wider than the original (90mm vs 83mm) and make for an altogether more striking aesthetic. To pair well with its exclusive Black Series exterior, both double-walled tip styles are available in black: Lemans (slant cut) and Signature (straight cut).

The catalytic converter is an emissions device that converts the exhaust gasses exiting the engine into a less toxic substance. This is achieved through the internal honeycomb monolith, washcoat, and the catalyst itself that commonly consists of a mix of precious metals. Unfortunately the catalytic converters do not last forever, and can be damaged if the engine is running too rich on fuel.
If you’re getting an oxygen sensor fault, and the sensor is ok, the likely cause is a failed catalytic converter. BMW of North America is pleased to announce a performance exhaust system for the M3! With the racetrack and the street in mind, this new exhaust was designed using an extremely heat-resistant and lightweight chrome-nickel alloy called Inconel®.
This optimized exhaust conduit allows the M3’s V8 engine to breathe more easily (reduction in backpressure) and create a very powerful sound. Powerful and sporty exhaust note with no droning for everyday suitability. Fabricated from a chrome-nickel alloy called Inconel®. Inconel® is an extremely heat-resistant and strong material. These qualities allowed engineers to reduce the wall thickness of the exhaust from 1.5mm to 0.8mm without sacrificing strength. This resulted in a weight reduction of approximately 40% (~20 lbs.) when compared to the stock exhaust.
Inconel is very corrosion resistant and has been used at the highest level of Motorsports. Perforated inner pipes and polished titanium tips (laser-engraved with the M logo) represent the ultimate in technology and sportiness, accentuating the individual character of the BMW M3. Developed using state-of-the art CAD and FEM technology, ensuring optimum fit and OEM quality.
