Now available is my slicktop 1997 M3 sedan with an S54 and 6-speed swap. The car was completely restored and repainted in 2020, and has been driven roughly 7,000 miles since. The S54 and transmission came from a 2006 M3 and have approximately 57k miles, while the chassis has 164k.

Mechanically, it has a BimmerWorld carbon CSL airbox, Epic ECU and Randy Mueller tune, CSF radiator with SPAL fan, OEM Euro oil cooler, Euro headers, custom exhaust, and new braided brake and clutch lines. Suspension is handled by Ground Control coilovers with Koni Yellows, camber plates and rear camber arms. Braking is provided by Performance Friction Company E46 BBK 6-piston fronts and 4-piston rears with floating rotors, and it wears Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s. The car makes around 310 whp and revs to 8,700 rpm.

The interior features Recaro Pole Positions reupholstered in Alcantara and M Rain cloth with matching rear seats and door inserts, Euro alcantara steering wheel, and a PLX gauge for oil temp, coolant temp and air/fuel ratio.

Additional replaced parts during the restoration include all exterior rubber, windshield and rear glass, window regulators, tracks and seals. The A/C received a new compressor, drier and condenser. A new throw-out bearing was also installed recently.

This car has zero rust, perfect paint, no issues, and was built by a mechanical engineer who owned it for 12 years and regularly builds/races S54 E36s himself. This is far from the average S54 E36, and is likely one of the best examples out there. All of the mechanics and experts who have had a hand in this build will attest it is one of the most cleanest and most dialed E36s they’ve ever seen.
