Key points on the conversion:
I chose to keep all of the emissions equipment intact from the donor 2004 E46 M3. The car is setup to be bar certified if you live in CA. If your outside of CA it should have no problem passing an emissions check. The touring has the OEM S54 cats, secondary air pump, evap canister etc. Nothing is tuned out. All emissions readiness monitors clear and set like normal. I had Jim at Kassel performance use the stock ecu from the donor car. The ecu shows the touring vin number. The instrument cluster is even coded to show all 4 doors and rear hatch when it’s open.
Milage on the donor m3 was 160k
Touring chassis has 232k
I have receipts for everything I purchased and photos upon request. I built the car to be a compliant daily driver and fun weekend warrior. It does just that.
