This is a 4th vehicle and having acquired an e90 M3 earlier this year, I do not want to keep up with maintenance on this many vehicles. I am located in Denver, Colorado.
1995 e36 M3
⦁ 3.0 liter S50 motor
⦁ Alpine white on black interior with Vader Seats
⦁ 157k miles
⦁ 5 speed manual
⦁ Garage Kept
⦁ Factory DSI Wheels
⦁ New Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires @153k
⦁ Factory Options: Electric Sunroof, Heated Front Seats, Cruise Control, On-Board Computer, Harmon Kardon Sound System with amplifier, alarm system, LSD
⦁ Split fold down rear seats
⦁ AC system overhaul including expansion valve under the dash
⦁ Bone stock. Never been modified.
⦁ Clean Title*
The Asterisk:
You may have noticed the asterisk next to “Clean Title”. In 2017, I filed a hail claim on it. The damage was minimal, but there’s something small on several panels. I have the paperwork from the insurance company showing the damages and the estimated cost. I thought it was way overblown and only had some things fixed because the car looks great (yes, even in person and up close). The title remains clean and in-hand. The car looks fantastic from 15ft away and even from up close you have to look to find the damage. It’s not perfect but is not much more than you would expect from a car this age. If you really want to own an e36 M3, this car is an excellent example remaining despite the stain to its record. I was quoted at $1,200 to have every dent and ding removed with PDR.
I have owned the car for almost 10 years, receiving it with around 112,000 miles. I have kept all records of the car in both paper and digital form for everything from alignments to parts and receipts. I was dailying the car until Covid. It has rarely seen snow and if it did, it had an immediate undercarriage wash. Now, I drive it every other week and only in good weather conditions to keep it in good shape and would happily and comfortably daily it again if I had the need.
The good:
⦁ No Rust
⦁ Subframe bushing refresh plus several others (see maintenance below)
⦁ Rear Trailing Arm Bushing Pockets are in-tact, with no indications of cracking or failing.
⦁ Rear Shock Tower mounts are free of cracking and have reinforcement plates.
⦁ No damage on any sway bar mount locations (front and rear)
⦁ It has had a ton of maintenance done to it over the past decade. See notables listed below.
⦁ Interior is in great condition (drivers door panel and rear panel Replaced with brand new ones from Germany in Sept 2023)
⦁ Original Two keys
⦁ Original Two remotes (have seen better days but still work)
⦁ Original toolkit
⦁ Original BMW owners portfolio (everything that originally came in there: manual, factory price and spec sheet, nappa leather sample, radio security code card, accessories guide, supplementary manual, amongst other things)
⦁ Pretty much everything works and everything is still original or replaced with OEM
⦁ Tons of small things have been replaced such as weather stripping around driver’s door and both rear windows. All the black moulding and rubber/seals are supple and black (not faded).
The bad:
⦁ Minor power steering leak
⦁ Seat belt squeaks sometimes in my driving position
⦁ Headliner sagging
⦁ Airbag light comes on for the first 1-2 mins then goes off. I replaced the drivers seat buckle receiver in hopes of fixing this but it didn’t fix it. I believe it needs a new seat buckle on the passenger side to fix this but it didn’t both me enough as the passenger belt buckle works and looks good. The car came like this when I bought it 10 years ago.
⦁ The rear bumper has some paint cracking. It has been like that since I took ownership and has not chipped further or gotten worse.
⦁ Passenger side door panel and rear panel are coming unglued
⦁ clear coat peeling on small area on trunk (about 4” in the center/highest point)
Other Notes:
⦁ The head unit in the car is from a 98. It works great except it is incompatible with the 1995, 6 disc changer.
⦁ 6 disc changer is not compatible with current head unit but still works. I have the old head unit which needs new capacitors ($50 kit) to work as original again.
⦁ ZHP shift knob
⦁ Factory DSI wheel spare in trunk

⦁ Oil changes every 3-5k miles

It is a fantastic car and super fun to drive. I am sad to let it go, but its too much to have it with the e90 and this should be enjoyed, appreciated, and let out of the garage more. Please contact me to setup coming out to see it in-person. I can be reached by call, text, or email: 469-261-5623 cgornstein@gmail.com. I have shipped a handful of cars over the years and am familiar with the process to help facilitate this, if needed. Thanks.
